U.S. COVID-19 cases multiplied threefold over past month – Walensky

WASHINGTON, May 18 (Reuters) – The United States has seen a threefold boom in day by day COVID-19 instances over the past month and a consistent boom over the last five weeks, U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Rochelle Walenksy stated on Wednesday.

The seven-day average of each day cases become up 26% from the previous week to ninety four,000 cases in step with day, Walensky stated at a White House briefing. The seven-day average for hospitalizations become up 19% to approximately 3,000 according to day and the common for deaths became 275 per day, she stated.
